You Name It Specialties was born on the floor of Becky Beck's apartment living room in the summer of 1990.

After working for a few years in customer service on the supplier side of the Promotional Products Industry, Becky figured that it might be fun to get out of the cubicle and sell koozies, t-shirts, pens and keytags to small businesses around San Antonio. So, being a little crazy, she quit her job and took the plunge. She literally went door to door and called on everybody..Auto Repair shops, Dog Groomers, Insurance Agents and Funeral Homes. By day she made calls and by night she poured over catalogs learning the business. She learned alot that first year, especially about the meaning of the word "NO".

After awhile, Becky's childhood friend Jan (also a little nutty) saw what Becky was doing and decided to join her. Then Becky's brother Terry put away his socket wrenches and jumped in too.

By 1994 they were doing well enough to move out of the living room and into some real office space. They had one phone line, a used fax machine. and a "never say die" attitude. The company continued to grow a little each year, despite the inevitable set-backs. By the end of the 90's business was hoppin'.

Today, You Name It Specialties, Inc. has its own 6,000 s.f. state-of-the-art facility with showroom, conference room, in-house embroidery, sign shop and warehouse. There are 9 full-time account representatives and support staff.

Becky, Jan and Terry can still be found calling on customers by day and pouring over catalogs at night.
