FAQ

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions. If you have other questions not listed, don't hesitate to contact You Name It Specialties.

Q: What's the minimum quantity I need to order to have something imprinted or embroidered?

A: Wearable items generally require a minimum of 24 pieces to embroider or screen print. The minimum order for promotional items like magnets, koozies, pens, pencils, etc. vary depending on the item. Contact the dedicated sales staff at YNIS for more information.

Q: How quickly can I get something printed or embroidered?

A: Standard production time is generally 7 to 10 working days plus shipping.  However, YNIS has many suppliers that vary in production times. Contact YNIS for the most updated lead times.

Q: What is an artwork charge?

A: An artwork charge may apply unless your art files are provided in an acceptable electronic file. If you require a change in artwork — such as adding a website address or phone number — our in-house graphic artist will be happy to handle that. If you require a more complicated artwork change, an additional fee may apply. Intricate artwork may require an additional cost.

Q: What is an acceptable format for my logo or artwork?

A: Your files should be in a “vector” art format (ai, pdf, eps or svg file) for almost all jobs – preferably created in Adobe Illustrator.

Q: What does "digitize" mean and how does it apply to embroidery?

A: To embroider a logo or stylized text, an embroidery tape is needed.  A digitizer recreates your design using a computer software program that allows the embroidery machine to read the file and transpose the design to your garment.

Q: What are setup charges?

A: When applicable, setup charges are imposed by the factory that prints your order. Depending on the item being ordered there may or may not be a setup charge.  A factory will charge a setup charge to cover the cost of setting up the print machinery to run your order.  Many suppliers waive the setup cost on exact reorders or may reduce the cost. The staff at YNIS is experienced in finding the best value for our customers. In any case, all charges associated with an order will be quoted to the client for approval prior to the start of production.

Q: Can I provide my own shirts and caps to be decorated?

A: You can bring in garments for us to embroider.  However, in most cases, because of the business relationships we have developed with blank apparel suppliers, YNIS can provide you with a decorated item for a lower cost than the embroidery cost plus what you would spend on the apparel item in a department store. So there are benefits to allowing YNIS to provide a turn-key solution to your decorated apparel needs.

Q: Can I pay my invoice online?

A: Yes, YNIS has an online payment portal, ynispayments.com, where you can remit payment using a credit card.
